Does Waxing stretch your skin?

The majority of people are considering waxing as one of their staple hair removal treatments. The fact that in less than an hour, they can immediately feel the smoothness and glow of their skin, due to the hair being removed. Also, this can last up to weeks, before the regrowth of the hair. It’s no wonder that people prefer waxing over shaving.

It’s safe to know that waxing is the savior of removing our hair in most areas of our body, But, the question is, does waxing make skin look saggy? Let’s find out!

Does waxing make our skin look saggy?

This is a reasonable concern. Many soft body waxes provide a gentle exfoliating effect that strips the skin of its outer layer, so it's normal for people to worry about removing the skin's first line of defense against sun rays, residue, chemical substances, etc.

The skin is indeed more sensitive to damage after waxing, which is why estheticians are adamant about proper aftercare treatments inside and outside of the salon.

While it's natural to feel that the constant pulling that takes place during a wax session, could add to these causes, the truth is that waxing does not make your skin saggy. Professional wax products combine vitamins and other natural ingredients that protect the skin and encourage the regeneration of cells. This is one of the reasons why the skin has such a glowing, healthy look, after a professional wax service.

It's also worth mentioning that you'll never be too old to get into waxing. Even if your skin starts growing saggy for whatever reason, a regular waxing regime won't prompt skin damage and the experience itself will be just as pleasant.

Of course, saggy skin is thinner and more sensitive, so it must be properly soothed during the post-wax treatment. Remember to use antioxidant formulas right after waxing and natural skin care products between wax sessions.
